The pine trees stretched tall, towards the brightest blue sky as the fall sun danced off the gentle waves lapping on the shore. Family and friends talked about what a perfect fit these two are for each other. The smoky smells of bar-b-que wafted through the air while Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight” covered the dock like a comfy blanket. And Kristie and Robert danced like no one was watching.
Kristie and Robert live in the ATL, but they were married in a relaxed yet sophisticated ceremony at Robert’s parents’ home on the shores of Lake Greenwood. I didn’t meet them until the day of the wedding–only through emails and iChat–but I was instantly enamored with the day’s mood of laughter, elegance, and celebration.
Robert’s parents’ beautiful home, and all the fall flowers
On her fall bouquet, Kristie carried a sweet angel pin that her Grandmother gave her when she was a girl. They both have the same birthstone, so this was a special remembrance of her.
I’m fairly certain that I squealed when I saw that Kristie was going to be wearing a birdcage veil. 🙂 Completely glamorous.
Cute shoes! (And comfy, a concept I’ve heard of but do not practice in my personal footwear…)
The Girls, laughing on the dock. Could this day have been ANY MORE gorgeous??
Can you spot Kristie’s “something blue?”
Kristie and her family. Yes, we had spotters to be sure she didn’t end up in the water!
Our handsome groom and his groomsmen…
Robert’s happy little Grandmother…
These are from Kristie and Robert’s “official” first dance. It was a true mix of tender moments and lots of pure happiness…
Rawr!
…and these are from the “unofficial” dancing on the dock…
Could this be anymore adorable? I’m thinking no…
Appropriately enough, Kristie & Robert made their big exit by water…
I say it a lot, but I am seriously so fortunate to have amazing clients who just seem to “fit” with me and me with them. I am a big believer that God brings people and situations to us, and I also believe that there is no such thing as a so-called business relationship: you can’t do business until you have a relationship. Kristie and Robert, you guys are fun, in love, and your wedding was perfectly you. Thank you for trusting my vision and sharing yourselves!
One last image, and the link to their proof gallery is at the bottom in case you missed it yesterday.
I completely love this shot, but I can’t pick between color and b&w. What do you guys think? Either way, these guys are absolutely radiant!
