Tracy & Ashley: Married

Posted

Front porches with tall white columns, handmade quilts, and mint juleps.
Wildflowers in Mason jars, a bluegrass band, and coconut cake.
Golfing, sparkly shoes, and jumping in the pool fully clothed.
A fun-loving, affectionate, caring new family.
Tracy and Ashley, Parker and Jess.

The Liberty Lodge in Walhalla, SC was the perfect location for family and friends to celebrate a wonderful beginning. I have already posted several of their portraits on facebook, so I wanted to show you their amazing wedding-day details here. I will post portraits on here really soon…in the meantime friend me on facebook, and enjoy this eye-candy!

Tracy’s vision for her wedding day was relaxed Southern elegance, and she and her girlfriends–the YaYas–did an amazing job with the details.

Conservation Theory played amazing bluegrass on the porch before the ceremony and out by the pool during the reception.

Tracy & Ashley’s guests were treated to a “sweet Southern snack” of Coca-Cola and MoonPies. If you don’t know about the marshmallowy goodness of MoonPies or Coke in glass bottles (or you call it “pop”)….you need to head on down South and get educated on the good stuff. 🙂

I don’t think Miss Lulu was too thrilled about her veil…but every good belle has to suffer a little for beauty…

I can’t even tell you how much this crowd loves and protects one another. The YaYas are truly a little family…I am becoming an honorary member with every one of their weddings I shoot!

I am fairly certain there was a No Swimming rule during the reception. That rule was broken.

Ashley & James: Married

Posted

Ashley and James are so many things: spiritual, elegant, stylish, kind, loving. Their wedding was such a reflection of them, with an emotional “First Look” before the ceremony; crisp black, white, and green details; and the love of their family, friends, and God pouring over them as they became husband and wife.

Check out all this emotion from the “First Look!” *swoon*

Rosanne & William’s Wedding: Part II

Posted

So you’re about to understand why I had to break this up into 2 posts (3 if you count their Sneak Peek!). Rosanne and William are simply Stunning with a capital “S.”

rw070

rw072

rw078

Please repeat the following in your best British accent: “My mate fancies you.” Those were the words that a mutual friend used to point Rosanne out to William the first night they met. (Have I mentioned HOW MUCH I love their accents, yet what an epic fail it is for me to attempt it?) 🙂

rw075

rw077

LIke I said in my previous posts, Rosanne’s dad arranged for the quintessential American muscle-car to be the newlyweds’ transportation down the mountain and to their reception. Lovin’ these shiny details!

rwcarcollage3

rwcarcollage1

rw11

And they rode off into the sunset…

rw083

Rosanne and William’s reception was at Thorneblade Country Club in Greer. Their decor was very elegant, very Parisian…candelabras, crystals, and beautiful fabrics. Each table name was a different building or structure in Paris, where William proposed to Rosanne. William, an architect, designed and illustrated the signs!

rwreceptioncollage

Their cake came from Strossner’s Bakery in Greenville. So pretty!

rw085

One of my favorite cake-smashing photos ever…

rwcakecollage

Rosanne and William’s wedding was a true fusion of locations and traditions. The elegance of Paris + the warmth of the South. Mac Arnold & Plate Full O’ Blues packed the dancefloor and pretty much brought the house down. And let me tell ya–you ain’t gonna get more Southern than the blues.

rw087

rwmaccollage

If you COULD get more Southern, however, it would be with a guitar made out of a gas can. A gas can that wails.

rw090

I don’t think I mentioned this, but I didn’t actually meet Rosanne and William until a few days before their wedding. Rosanne’s parents did a fabulous job arranging the wedding details, and they have been my main contacts. Roxy and Clive–it has been a pleasure getting to know you over the past several months, and I appreciate you making me feel so welcome at the wedding and reception. Rosanne and William–your day was amazing, and both of you are amazing. I hope to see you next time you are in the States!

As always, I love it when you “show me some love.” <3 --Amy

Rosanne & William’s Wedding: Part I

Posted

Fusion. Weddings are all about bringing together, combining. Blending families, blending personalities, blending cultures and traditions. Rosanne and William’s wedding was a true fusion: their guests came from 3 continents (Europe, Africa, and North America); Rosanne was born in South Africa, went to high school in South Carolina, and moved to the UK for college where she met William; he proposed to her in Paris; they got married on a mountain-top, traveled in a ’68 Camaro, and had a blues band at their wedding reception. Parisian meets Southern. Meet Rosanne and William…

rwchapelcollage

The ceremony was at the gorgeous Cliffs at Glassy Chapel.

As everyone knows, I.LOVE.SHOES. Rosanne’s shoes are to die for, and she later managed to climb up a mountainside in these for portraits!

These photos feel like old Hollywood to me…

rwrosannecollage

These girls were so much fun!

rwgirlscollage

Each bridesmaid’s bouquet had a sparkly pin with her monogram. Love some shimmer!

rw063

By the end of the evening, I felt like I should be speaking with a British accent. Unfortunately, I’m just Southern and that’s the only accent I can pull off! I’ll say that William was looking “quite dapper,” and hope that’s close enough! 🙂

rw050

I caught this sweet expression on William’s face during the wedding ceremony…

William, you’d better watch out for Rosanne’s dad! 😉

So this doesn’t turn into the longest-post-ever, I’ll be back with part two….some GORGEOUS portraits of the couple, and fun stuff from the reception! In the meantime, you can check out the complete gallery of proofs by CLICKING HERE. The password is Rosanne’s maiden name.
