Ashlee & Pat: Greenville SC Wedding

Posted

Sometimes, love is there all along.

Ashlee is an only child, and her BFF Lindsey became like a sister many, many years ago. Ashlee spent tons of time at Lindsey’s house when they were growing up, and she even went on family vacations with Lindsey’s family…which included her brother Patrick. As you probably guessed, Ashlee and Pat fell in love, and the two were married this fall in an emotional ceremony which joined not only the two of them, but also their families. Congratulations, Ashlee & Pat!

Ashlee’s flowers were from All in the Details, and they were so beautiful and full of unusual fall blooms. The gold leaf pin belonged to her Grandmother, and the ladybug is for good luck!

After we shot Ashlee’s bridal portrait several months ago, her mom contacted me to arrange a creative and touching surprise for Ashlee. With the help of a friend who is better in photoshop than me :-), we took a photo from Ashlee’s parents’ wedding and placed Ashlee next to her mom in the exact same pose! It was such a special gift, and I know Ashlee will treasure it.

Ashlee and Pat’s reception was at Hopkins Farm in Simpsonville, SC. It was a beautiful location for the fall celebration! I really love this First Dance photo….love the emotion, the movement, the light….

This crowd broke.it.down on the dancefloor! They had a blast and were so much fun to watch!

Leaving in a downpour of birdseed. Their facial expressions are too funny!

And finally, my favorite part of any wedding day: the “couple portraits.” The weather was yukky and the light quickly fading, but we found some cool spots around the farm for Ashlee & Pat’s photos, like this awesome textured silo…

Kristie & Robert’s Wedding

Posted

The pine trees stretched tall, towards the brightest blue sky as the fall sun danced off the gentle waves lapping on the shore. Family and friends talked about what a perfect fit these two are for each other. The smoky smells of bar-b-que wafted through the air while Eric Clapton’s “Wonderful Tonight” covered the dock like a comfy blanket. And Kristie and Robert danced like no one was watching.

Kristie and Robert live in the ATL, but they were married in a relaxed yet sophisticated ceremony at Robert’s parents’ home on the shores of Lake Greenwood. I didn’t meet them until the day of the wedding–only through emails and iChat–but I was instantly enamored with the day’s mood of laughter, elegance, and celebration.

On her fall bouquet, Kristie carried a sweet angel pin that her Grandmother gave her when she was a girl. They both have the same birthstone, so this was a special remembrance of her.

I’m fairly certain that I squealed when I saw that Kristie was going to be wearing a birdcage veil. 🙂 Completely glamorous.

Can you spot Kristie’s “something blue?”

Appropriately enough, Kristie & Robert made their big exit by water…

I say it a lot, but I am seriously so fortunate to have amazing clients who just seem to “fit” with me and me with them. I am a big believer that God brings people and situations to us, and I also believe that there is no such thing as a so-called business relationship: you can’t do business until you have a relationship. Kristie and Robert, you guys are fun, in love, and your wedding was perfectly you. Thank you for trusting my vision and sharing yourselves!

One last image, and the link to their proof gallery is at the bottom in case you missed it yesterday.

I completely love this shot, but I can’t pick between color and b&w. What do you guys think? Either way, these guys are absolutely radiant!

The Duncan Family: Sneak Peek

Posted

I first photographed the Duncans way back when the boys were actually still boys! Drew is now a senior, so our session doubled as his senior portraits. This family loves one another, loves to play, and loves the country. I think their sneak peek shows all of that…
