The Assembly Debutant Ball | Spartanburg SC Event Photography

Nina + Nick, Down on the Farm | Greenville SC Fall Engagement Portraits

Let me tell you how much I loved photographing Nina and Nick’s low-key yet magical engagement portraits on their farm near Greenville SC this fall!! There was a field….there were fall leaves….there was a cute little rustic red barn…there were HORSES…there was gorgeous light and magical sunflare. (Did I mention that there were horses???) But none of those things compared to photographing Nina and Nick themselves. These two love with a quiet, calm, sweetness…they care for one another and their animals with such honesty and tenderness….they are quick to laugh together, they are genuine and giving, they love nature and peacefulness. They just make you feel at home when you are with them, and they are the kind of people who love their simple country life, but you know that they are truly “at home” wherever they are together. I cannot wait to photograph their wedding next spring, on this very same property. I know it will be filled with love and magic as well!

The Brice Family Portraits | Greenville SC Fall Photographer

I am so happy that the Brices chose me as their family photographer for their fall portraits this year at Lenora’s Legacy in Greenville SC. I have photographed this sweet and beautiful family three times now, with the first being when daughter Averi was just a toddler! I love watching families grow up in front of my camera, and these girls are turning into beautiful young ladies! It was a real treat photographing these girls, who were such loving and funny sisters in front of my camera. They never once said “Ewwwww, I don’t want to touch her!!” which happens frequently with siblings during photo shoots. 😉 Mom and Dad are equally cute together, and I always make it a point to photograph parents, just the two of them…after all, their love is where this family begins. Even though it was a chilly, overcast fall day, this cute family was completely warm and loving!

Beautiful girls.

I get lots of questions about “What should we wear for our portrait session?” and my usual responses include texture, pops of color, and coordinating but not “matchy-matchy” colors and styles. Mama Brice didn’t need my help–she proves that neutrals and patterns can be a BEAUTIFUL option for family portrait clothing and that neutral doesn’t equal boring!!

Two more of my super-faves!! Even Sophie the Dog got in on the family pics. 🙂

The Szabo Family | Greenville SC Poinsett Bridge Family Photographer

The Szabos are a beautiful family, inside and out. We met at Greenville’s Poinsett Bridge for their family photos, and it quickly became obvious what a loving little family they are. Dawson is such a sweet young man–a cutie pie who is easy-going and so loving to his mommy, daddy, and baby brother. This session was special to me, because Tony came with me to help carry gear AND to practice his photography skills. I was so impressed when I saw his photos!!

One of my “tricks” when I’m photographing kids of ANY age by themselves is to have them look at their mama and say “I love you mom!” Whether it’s a teenager or a 5 year old, the resulting expression is priceless. This photo on the right is Dawson’s “I love you mom” face. 😉
