There are 5 Things you should know about Meg and Alex:
1) They are adorably, fully in love.
2) They are both incredibly creative.
3) Photography was one of the top priorities for their wedding. (Yay!!)
4) They planned their entire wedding in 34 days…
5) …but not for the reason you are thinking!! Ha!
Meg and Alex’s theme was “A Picnic in the Park,” and lots of it was DIY. I admire anyone who takes on the details of decorations and flowers themselves, and Meg gets bonus points for doing this in barely a month’s time! Meg’s dress was perfect for their outdoor, fun, and festive celebration.
I *heart* Meg’s blue ballet flats!! She searched every single shoe store in Greenville SC for these, and finally found them online. Yay!
Speaking of DIY, Meg made this cute ring box…
Meg’s “something old” and “something borrowed” was her Grandmother’s gold and pearl necklace…which Miss Creative wore as a bracelet!
Beautiful and beaming! (and maybe a little giddy!)
I die over birdcage veils. So elegantly retro.
Realizing that she’s really, truly A Bride…
Meg and Alex chose to do a “First Look” before their ceremony. I looooooooooooove this decision! My couples who choose to see each other before the ceremony get to have a few moments alone to sink in the emotions of the day without everyone surrounding them, and it makes for some beautifully intimate and emotion images. (We also get to wrap up all of the posed group shots before the ceremony, so you can head straight from the ceremony to the reception!) I know this is a very personal decision for a bride and groom, but from the photography and scheduling standpoint, it is an awesome decision! OK, stepping off of my soapbox to show you the images. 😉
Meg waiting for her hubs-to-be to come…a little excitement, a little emotion, and a little nervousness…
OMGoodness too cute!
And this, my friends, is the kind of tenderness you get with a First Look. I absolutely love this one…
The sassy wedding party! (Meg was her own florist, too!)
Meg and her sweet dad…
…and Alex and his sweet (and PROUD!) mom. She is absolutely beaming at her baby boy!! (Alex, will you forgive me for calling you her baby boy on the internet? Sorry.)
Hehe, this makes me smile.
Stay tuned for Part II: the ceremony, “couple pictures,” and the oh-so-cute gingham and sunflower filled reception. As always, I hope you will leave a comment to “show me (and the newlyweds!) some love.”
