The Cockfield Family: SC Portraits

Posted

I photographed the Cockfield family during Thanksgiving weekend at daughter Kim’s Simpsonville, SC home while everyone was gathered for the holiday…and the Clemson-USC game. Not only are they absolutely beautiful on the outside, but they are just as beautiful–and sweet and fun and loving–on the inside. It was great to see how kind the grandkids are to one another!

Lovely ladies…Kim, Mom, and Kelly

Kim and Kelly–It was truly a pleasure to work with your entire family. Thank you for being so sweet and agreeable, and thanks to the men for giving up some tailgating time for these portraits. 🙂 I look forward to photographing you all again!

Kathy & Jonathan: Engagement Portraits

Posted

Kathy and Jonathan are kind and loving, quietly funny, and have great taste in music. They are having an intimate wedding in January with only their immediate family attending, and I am honored to celebrate with them. We photographed their engagement portraits at one of their favorite places here in Greenville, SC–the Rock Quarry Garden. It was here that they ventured the evening they got engaged to dream about their future and celebrate their happily ever after…

Like most photographers in Greenville, I shoot at the Rock Quarry pretty frequently (hellooo, it’s beautiful there!). It’s fun trying to find new angles or spots there to shoot…

Earlier in the week, Kathy scoped out this amazing trail nearby. We almost didn’t go here, as it was getting close to Clemson’s kick-off 🙂 . I’m SO glad we did–it was a stunning location and Kathy and Jonathan just look so in love in these shots.

LOOK CLOSELY! Do you see all 3 Kathys in this picture?

Kathy & Jonathan–I’m so happy to know you, and I’m looking forward to your wedding in January. It is wonderful and inspiring to see God in the center of your relationship.

Jackson & Delaney: “Harsh’s” Kids

Posted

In a post long, long ago I mentioned that most of my life I have always had a close friend also named Amy. During my college years at Western Carolina, Amy Harsh and I became fast friends….little sisters for the same fraternity, driving all night to Mardi Gras where we shared a room with 9 other college friends (um, ewwwwww!), Spring Break at Myrtle Beach, shopping together, and telling crazy stories. “Harsh” and I became known as “Amy Squared,” and one of the frat guys took great pleasure in standing behind us, calling out “Amy!”, and watching as both Amys turned around. We always both turned around. As often happens in life, we lost touch for several years. By the time we reconnected, Harsh had gotten married and was a mom to sweet Jackson and Delaney! We started getting together once a year, and this is a friendship where we can pick up right where we left off just like no time has passed. This fall I was able to photograph her totally freaking adorable and completely sweet kids in the Duke gardens in Durham, NC.

I’m not sure it can POSSIBLY get any more precious than this picture of brother and sister.

Jackson is so sweet and super smart. The best thing about this picture? He was smiling at his Mama off to the side. 🙂

Harsh and her kids…still looks like she could be in college!

We were trying to get Jackson to crack a smile. He took it to a whole new level and started laughing hysterically…I love it!

harsh03

Delaney is 3 going on 23. Spunky and outgoing, and a complete sweetie.

This is her “silly face.”

The fall leaves were beautiful in the Duke Gardens, so we got to play for a bit! These next pictures are what being a kid is all about…

Ashlee & Pat: Greenville SC Wedding

Posted

Sometimes, love is there all along.

Ashlee is an only child, and her BFF Lindsey became like a sister many, many years ago. Ashlee spent tons of time at Lindsey’s house when they were growing up, and she even went on family vacations with Lindsey’s family…which included her brother Patrick. As you probably guessed, Ashlee and Pat fell in love, and the two were married this fall in an emotional ceremony which joined not only the two of them, but also their families. Congratulations, Ashlee & Pat!

Ashlee’s flowers were from All in the Details, and they were so beautiful and full of unusual fall blooms. The gold leaf pin belonged to her Grandmother, and the ladybug is for good luck!

After we shot Ashlee’s bridal portrait several months ago, her mom contacted me to arrange a creative and touching surprise for Ashlee. With the help of a friend who is better in photoshop than me :-), we took a photo from Ashlee’s parents’ wedding and placed Ashlee next to her mom in the exact same pose! It was such a special gift, and I know Ashlee will treasure it.

Ashlee and Pat’s reception was at Hopkins Farm in Simpsonville, SC. It was a beautiful location for the fall celebration! I really love this First Dance photo….love the emotion, the movement, the light….

And finally, my favorite part of any wedding day: the “couple portraits.” The weather was yukky and the light quickly fading, but we found some cool spots around the farm for Ashlee & Pat’s photos, like this awesome textured silo…
