Rose’s mommy and I grew up together since the 3rd grade…we were practically sisters throughout elementary, middle, and high school. We rode to school together, giggled about boys, and pretty much lived at each other’s houses. Thanks to the magic of facebook, we reconnected after quite a few years, and I was honored when Tiffany asked me to photograph Little Miss Rose’s 1 year old portraits. This petite little flower is SUCH a happy girl, and I just fell in love with her cute little dimple and cheerful smile!

Tiffany and Red, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph Miss Rose’s portraits. It was so special to be able to do this for you, and Tiffany it was great to see you…so much of our childhood and youth was shared. Enjoy your portraits, and I’m looking forward to staying in touch!

The Hensons: Greer SC Family Portraits

Posted

I go way back with this happy little family. Waaaaaaaaay back. My mom and Katy’s aunt were in first grade together! I went to high school and church youth group with Jon’s sister, and was even a bridesmaid in her wedding. I photographed Jon and Katy’s wedding nearly 3 years ago (time flies!), and they are featured on a video on my website talking about doing a “First Look.” And now that their family includes Miss Nora, I was able to do these GORGEOUS (if I do say so myself…) family portraits for them in a field here in Greer.

I think these images showcase exactly what their little family is all about: love, laughter, and Southern sweetness…

Ok. So I am crazy about these next three photos. Like, I melted when I saw them and I secretly hope Katy, her mom, and Jon’s mom all cry a happy little tear when they see these. That’s how much I love these next three moments…

Katy and Jon, you guys are seriously the best. Always friendly and kind, enthusiastic and genuine. You have such a sweet family, and I am honored to have been there for your wedding and again for these family portraits. I hope you love them! (I do!)

Family Blessings: Simpsonville SC Family Portraits

Posted

On this Thanksgiving Day, there are few things that I am more thankful for than my family. I look in the mirror, and I see their features. I speak, and I hear their words (mostly my mom’s….yes, it has already happened that I’ve become my mother, hehe!). I experience the world, and I feel their influence. For the Schlotterback Family, Thanksgiving is truly a celebration of the blessing of family. You see, this time last year, they were joined together as a family in China. Sweet Abby has brightened their lives in every way, and on Monday they celebrated “Family Day,” their one-year anniversary as a family of three. (Four, counting puppy. 😉 )

Abby is SO CUTE! I photographed her in the summer (see those pictures HERE), and she’s grown so much since then, both in appearance and personality!

These photos were all taken at Le Jardins of Fox Hollow in Simpsonville SC, a private home with beautiful landscaping. Le Jardins of Fox Hollow is available for portrait sessions–please contact me for info!

Abby and Mommy…

Two beautiful ladies! This dress was Mom’s when she was a little girl. How flipping cute are those leggings?!? (And do they come in grown-up sizes??)

I love this snuggly, peaceful moment…maybe one of my favorites from the entire portrait session.

And one last cute shot…seriously, she is adorable!

Happy Thanksgiving, and Happy Family Week to the Schlotterbacks. You and Abby are certainly blessed to have each other.

The Clamps & Knokes: Greenville SC Military Family Portraits

Posted

When the Clamp/Knoke family contacted me for their family portraits in Greenville, they were on a bit more of a time crunch than most families are: their son and brother Will is only in town for two weeks….on leave from serving in Afghanistan. Will won’t be stateside again for 6 months, so it was super important to have portraits while he’s here and while their family is complete again. It was a pleasure and an honor to photograph them yesterday….

Jennifer and Josh got engaged on this very swing! They’ve been married for about 2 1/2 years now, and wanted some new “couple pictures” of them. Yay!

Brother and Sister…

LOVE this portrait of Will and Mom….she’s so proud!

falls-park-greenville-military-family-portraits-05

Ha–Mom finally got Will to crack a smile. 🙂

falls-park-greenville-military-family-portraits-06

And lastly, some portraits of Will. There are so many opinions about this war, our country, and politics. Bottom line, however, is that there are thousands of men and women risking their lives by simply “doing their jobs.” They are someone’s son or daughter, their brother or sister, their husband or wife. Many thanks and many prayers for a safe return go out to Will and all the others like him.

The face of this soldier…who returns overseas tomorrow.

Clamps/Knokes, it was great meeting you all yesterday. My hope is that these portraits will make the distance and time a little easier over the next 6 months. Will, stay safe, and thank you for “doing your job.”
