When I was a senior in high school, I remember watching The Graduate in AP English. I loved the poetry of the Simon & Garfunkel soundtrack, and I could relate to Dustin Hoffman’s uncertainty over his future (“Plastics!”). Cale reminds me of those times….he is artistic, deep, full of ideas, and connected to the poetry and beauty and confusion of life. His session reminds me of why I love photographing Senior Portraits so much.

Family is so important. The relationships between parents and their children, siblings, husbands and wives, grandparents and their precious grandchildren–this is what life is made of. These relationships help to make us who we are, and they are what we come back to throughout our entire lives. The Trammells are three generations of laughter and love, and it was an honor to photograph them while everyone was gathered in one place during the Thanksgiving holidays. I used to work with Jessica when our lives were much different, and it was great to reconnect with her now that we are both wives and she’s a new mommy.

Sweet, genuine, honest, pure, fun….these are some ways to describe the Waters Family, and I’m so happy that their family portraits captured all of these things. I went to high school with Ben and Beth, and they are a laid-back couple who love playing music and reading with their adorable girls. I hope you enjoy their portraits and slideshow, shot at one of my favorite locations–Furman University in Greenville SC. The day of their session, Beth called me concerned because we scheduled the session too late to have any fall leaves. I simply responded that while the leaves would have been beautiful, the most important part of these photos would be to capture her girls’ expressions, energy, and emotions. I think we did just that….

The Major Family is majorly fun…and majorly cute….and majorly full of spunk! I have been photographing these friends for years, and this session was special because baby brother got to be a part of the fun for the first time. (He was te-niny when I did his newborn photos.) I loved seeing everyone’s personalities come out in these portraits, and Em definitely wins the award for most enthusiastic this time! She was all about it this time around–yay!
