The Hartleys’ Extended Family Portraits | Greenville SC Family Photography

If you’re a regular blog reader, you know that I LOVE photographing extended families when they are together. These days, our families are so spread out that it’s a big deal to capture a portrait when all the generations are together in one place. The Hartley Family came together in Greenville SC recently for a weekend of football (both Auburn and Alabama), corn hole tournaments, tons of laughter, and an afternoon portrait session with Amy Clifton Keely Photography at Furman University. My BFF Rebecca married into this crazy-fun family, so it’s been fun to keep tabs on the Hartleys over the years. I love their sassiness, their laughter, and their love.

Happy 10 Year Anniversary to my BFF and her Hubby! I was honored to be Rebecca’s Maid of Honor 10 short years ago, and she returned the favor in mine and Tony’s wedding as my Matron of Honor. Love y’all!!

As you see, Rebecca is no shorty….

…so the step-ladder that I used for the kids came in handy with Marshall. 😉

Most little boys aren’t super excited to be in pictures, but Wyatt was AWESOME. He is so stinking cute, too!

Libby is a beautiful girl, inside and out.

She’s got a fabulous smile, but I am crazy about this B&W of her serious face. Mama and Daddy better watch out!! 😉

Melissa has got the greatest eyelashes. So jealous, LOL!

I had the hardest time narrowing down Aunt Jane and Uncle Robert’s photos. They are SO cute together. You can see their love for each other in every single portrait.

The Hartley Siblings…

All three of these guys bear the name “Marshall.” I love this cute idea and their happy faces (thanks to Wyatt’s hilarious comments)!

Uh oh–House Divided. (And Wyatt hasn’t picked a team yet….there was a bit of family tug-o-war going on to sway his decision. For now, though, he’s Switzerland.) But it’s all in good fun, right? Right?

Hmmmm, maybe not. 😉

Hartley Family, I loved spending the afternoon with you guys and I’m so glad you got to be together in Greenville as a family. I hope you love your photos and that they bring lots of happy memories of special family times together!

The Ely Extended Family Travel Portraits | Highlands NC Family Portrait Photographer

Three of my favorite things combined for The Elys’ portrait session at Ray’s Roost cabin in picturesque Highlands NC: extended family, travel, and photography! The super-fun Ely Family converged in Highlands NC for a relaxing weekend together, laughing over old stories, fly fishing amongst the fall leaves, and just enjoying three generations of love.

Miss Caroline is the sweetest big sister, and a SO pretty in front of the camera. And can I please have her boots in a big-girl size???

Miss Elizabeth wasn’t so sure about me at first, but once she warmed up: incredible cuteness!!! I love her sweet smile!

Little Miss Anna kept me on my toes! She is a doll baby, and I just love her dimples!

And this giant laugh?? I want to laugh like this every day!!! 🙂

I looooooove it when couples say they aren’t sure of themselves in front of the camera….and then they give me beautiful moments like these next two shots!

I had to end with two of my favorite portraits….these two big sisters are beautiful girls, and I just melted with their love for each other.

The Millers in the Country | Spartanburg SC Fall Family Photographer

I photographed the ADORABLE Miller family at the new home they are building out in the country near Spartanburg SC, and it was everything I dreamed of: tall grasses, open fields, gorgeous light, cowboy boots, and tons of love and laughter. It was a blast watching this family of 5 playing games, chasing little Levi, and loving on each other. As I watched the kids exploring their new wide-open spaces without a care in the world, I thought about what a special place this is going to be as they grow up on this land…together…laughing, playing, loving as a family. I hope that my photos captured that magic!

How pretty is sweet Miss Elliott??

This was baby Levi’s first official portrait session, so we made sure to get lots of portraits of his sweet face. I wish I could claim responsibility for his laughter in some of these shots, but daddy was behind me cranking up the tractor to get Levi’s attention! Ha!

For real? Levi’s closed eyes, crinkled-up nose laughter is the.best.ever!!

Miller Family, y’all are beautiful!!

Is there a country song about dancin’ on the dirt roads? If not, I think I should write one…

If you’re a regular blog reader, you know that I always make it a point to photograph mom and dad by themselves. In the craziness of life, it’s so important to remember where this family began, the love between two people that started it all. In the case of Mama and Daddy Miller, their love began in high school! These two have been together for half their lives, and I hope they look at these pictures and see how beautiful their love is.

Love that look of happiness and pure contentment.

Oh hey Levi!!

Here’s a fun favorite to end on–I love everything about this moment…mom and dad focused on each other, Lawson and Elliott racing to the finish line, and Levi clapping and cheering them on. Toooooo cute, y’all!!

Millers, I cannot thank you enough for asking me to photograph your family at your new home. I can’t wait to see how these images decorate your new home and bring you happy memories through the years!

Terri + Neal on the Mountaintop | Greenville SC Engagement Portraits

It was an incredible day photographing Terri and Neal’s engagement portraits on the mountaintops of northern Greenville SC! This beautiful couple share a connection that was worth the wait, worth the valleys, and worthy of the mountaintop they are enjoying thanks to God’s graces. Terri and Neal’s story began with a long-distance relationship, and Greenville was their halfway point, where they fell in love with each other and the area’s outdoor spaces. For their engagement session, we trekked through woodland trails at Wildcat Falls and climbed the huge rocky expanse of Bald Rock, both places that I’ve been dying to do a session! These two–who claimed to have almost no photos of themselves because they “aren’t photogenic”–were AMAZING for my camera!! Seriously, some couples just have this chemistry that the camera LOVES, and Terri and Neal are for sure in that category. I’m incredibly honored and excited to photograph their wedding in just a few more days.

These are two of the first times I pressed my shutter–not comfortable in front of the camera? Whatever!! Terri and Neal were perfect from the start of our session! (And Terri’s hair and makeup were perfect thanks to the always fabulous Katie Cotton of Cotton Rouge Hair and Makeup!)

Y’all know I love a reflection photo!

After rambling around Wildcat Falls, we headed up the mountain to Bald Rock, where we were met by a nice cool breeze, beautiful views, and the most gorgeous light to wash over Terri and Neal. I cannot say enough about how much I love every one of these images!

I know it feels funny when I ask couples to look at each other, but there is just something incredible about “that look” when people in love stare into each other’s eyes and giggle!

See? That’s love right there, folks.

*Sigh* How amazing is this place and these two??

Some of my favorites are in this next set…

We had a beautiful sunset at the end of our session. It was so pretty, that my mom called me on the way home to say that she and my dad were driving around trying to catch the last glimpses of it!

I had to save my favorites for last. I just love all of the emotion and pure joy in these portraits.

Terri and Neal–I am so happy that you guys found each other AND (selfishly) I’m also happy that you found me as your photographer! Your engagement portraits were so special to photograph, and I can hardly wait for all of the beautiful moments that I know will be found Friday at your wedding.

Ava’s Newborn Portraits | Greenville SC Family and Baby Photographer

Sweet Ava’s video slideshow from her newborn portrait session is filled with tender moments with Mommy and Daddy, funny times with their Pup, and sleepy faces (finally!!) on this beautiful baby girl. I hope you will enjoy it! I also just had to include this collage of her…I just love all these brand-new “baby parts”…wispy hair, puckered little lips, tiny toes. So cute!
